Drive 4 Life Welcome Note My name is Raj Pillay and I live and work in the Plymouth area. I am happily married with two children. I spent over 23 years in the Royal Navy (1974 - 1997), and since retiring, have been running my own driving school. I have been a Department for Transport Approved Driving Instructor (D.S.A. A.D.I) since 1997, and driving since 1976. My ADI number is 221197. I am registered with the Driving standard agency (DSA), and am also a registered Pass Plus Instructor. (See Pass Plus page). I am a qualified Fleet Driver Trainer (affiliated Fleet Driving Instructor for Any Driver Ltd) Hold NVQ level 3 in Driving Instructor. I am also a DriveIQ Pro Coach (a2om Btec Award in driving Science). RoSPA – Advanced Driving Test - Gold Edexcel NVQ 3 in Driving and A1 Assessor I am currently on the committee as Treasurer of The Association Of Approved Driving Instructor South West (APDI SW), Member of the Driving Instructors Association (DIA), South West Area Representative for DIDU (Delivering Information Developing Understanding) other members of which are also members of Institute Of Advanced Motorist (IAM), ROSPA and the ADI federation. My own standards of instruction and knowledge are regularly inspected by the DSA to ensure that pupils are being given correct and professional tuition at all times. So what can I do for You? Well, I will teach you how to drive. I will not teach you how to pass a driving test. I will teach you how to drive competently, confidently and above all, safely. This, in turn, will enable you to pass YOUR driving test, at any test centre in the country. I will also instruct you in all aspects of driving theory, hazard awareness, thus enabling you to sit your theory examination with total confidence. I have, in fact, a 100% pass rate of the theory exam. I will also teach you basic car maintenance thus enabling you to be a more confident all-round driver. In partnership with Any Driver Ltd, I can offer You the Edexcel Qualification and credit Frame Work (Btec, formally NVQ) level 3 Diploma in Safe Driving. THIS IS MY GUARANTEE TO YOU. You will be instructed in a NISSAN MICRA 1.2 manual, which incorporates full power steering, ABS braking, five speed gearbox, air conditioning Cruise Control and is a delight to drive. You may also have your lessons in a NISSAN MICRA 1.2 Automatic, with ABS braking, power steering and a wonderful drive. These are extremely well suited to driving tuition, and many of my past students have commented on how comfortable they were behind the wheel. I teach only on a One-To-One basis, NO CAR SHARING. This ensures that the time you pay for is yours and no one else’s. I will teach you in your own vehicle if you so wish.
